Extreme Thing 2016

Β

Yesterday, I randomly decided to go to the Extreme Thing Music Festival in Las Vegas at the last second. I originally wanted to go because I wanted to see my new favorite band State Champs play along with Mayday Parade, but my boyfriend couldn’t come to Vegas to go with me and I really didn’t want to go alone. But then I saw the line up for this summers Warped Tour and both State Champs and Mayday Parade where gonna be at warped, with all of my other favorite bands so I basically wasn’t missing out if I didn’t go see them at Extreme Thing. So then I decided I wasn’t going to go to Extreme Thing and I was just gonna catch all my favorite bands at Warped.

But then yesterday morning when I woke up at 11:40 I had a text from my friend asking if I was going. She told me she was almost there and she was going alone so I told her if she’s going I’ll totally go with her. She didn’t really want to be alone either so I decided to go to Extreme Thing lol

And after I asked what time State Champs was playing I got ready in 15 minutes and ran out of the house. It was noon when I left and it takes about 25 minutes to get to the venue from my house, plus time for parking and having to walk in and buy my ticket, so I was expecting to get in around 12:40 so I could see State Champs play at 2.

Well when I got there at about 12:30, I met up with my friend and we had no idea it was going to be as crazy as it was. The line was sooooo long, like there were so many people still waiting to get in. Which was crazy to me because it opened at 11am and almost 2 hours later there’s still a massive line of people waiting. The previous years I would show up around noon and I would buy my ticket and just walk in.

We ended up standing in line for about an hour, and after some complications we finally got in, literally 10 minutes before State Champs was playing 😭 and I was like WE HAVE TO FIND THE STAGE THEY’RE ON!! But we had the hardest time finding the stage because they had changed the stage names that were online so nothing was what it was originally named, and even after asking event staff and security they didn’t even know the stage names, and we had like 5 minutes and I randomly found a guy walking with a program guide so I asked him if I could see it and we found where State Champs was playing and ran over to the crowd and pushed our way in and into the front/middle.

I had been wanting to see them live for a while now so I was so pumped! And I guess so was everyone else because the crowd was crazy and everybody was into it, everybody was hyped and had a great time. State Champs were soooo goood. They had great energy, and they sounded amazing live. I literally had the time of my life in that crowd lol

Then after, the vocalist said he was going to be by one of the tents meeting everyone so we went there after to meet him and he was so nice. And sweaty lol but everyone was. He met everyone and we all got to talk to him for a bit, so that was nice(:

Basically after that my life was complete and I didn’t really care about anything else all day.

My friend and I spent the rest of the day going from stage to stage to see the bands we wanted to see. We waited at the barricade for almost an hour to be front and center for Bayside, who I only knew like one song to, but they are my friends favorite band, and I could definitely see why! I had heard their music a little before, but even though I didn’t know their lyrics, they were incredible! I had such a great time watching them up close, and you could see all the members smiling and loving what they do. Their performance was so good I could literally just watch them all day.

After their set, we ran all the way back to the stage where Mayday Parade was playing, so we could be in the crowd for them and when we got there we were like FUCK. Cause their crowd was huge! But again, we pushed our way into the crowd and got where we wanted to be.
And then when they came on it got so crazy. Literally, pits opening up and people getting thrown in and tossed around, so many people crowd surfing and falling on top of each other. I am not kidding, you couldn’t really watch and enjoy the show too much because you were too busy either avoiding or carrying a crowd surfer every 10 seconds and trying not to get squished and fallen on. I kid you not. I still had a lot of fun and I love being in crazy crowds like that. I can’t tell you how many times someone fell on me during that show or how many times we got kicked in the face by crowd surfers lol like I have battle wounds and bruises on my body from that crowd. It was crazy awesome!

Everybody was crowd surfing for Mayday Parade and things got intense. My friend got flattened when a fat girl tried to crowd surf and fell on top of her and knocked her ass out. Seriously, she blacked out lol A nice random guy helped pick her up so security could take her out, then I asked him to lift me up too so I could crowd surf to the barricade and get out to make sure she was alright. We ended up getting to sit side stage for Mayday Parade and get catered to with EMT’s and cold water lol so it really wasn’t too bad. My friend got some air and water and they cleaned her up since she was bleeding, but overall she was fine. And getting to sit side stage was kind of a bonus.

The crowd was absolutely crazy! Definitely not the craziest crowd I’ve ever been in, but still Mayday Parade’s crowd yesterday made it pretty high on my list.
Overall, it was a really great day. I had a lot of fun, and I’m glad I decided to go. To be honest, it was really refreshing going to Extreme Thing again. It sort of brought me back to my roots and the kind of music I’ve always loved to see live and go crazy to. I’ve been going to shows in LA but the crowds there are so boring to be honest. Like they don’t do anything other then just stand around and watch. I’m used to shows in Vegas where everybody is hyped and the energy is so high, everybody is singing and jumping around and crowd surfing. Being a part of the craziness is what’s fun for me. If I’m not in the middle of the crowd dancing and jumping around or at the barricades at the very front then I’d rather not be there. If i’m just gonna stand on the side and watch then what’s the point? Like that’s not fun for me lol

But I’m glad I did go and hung out with my friend and enjoyed the day together.

Thanks for stopping by! And have a great day everyone(:

Random Photo… #10

It’s been almost 2 years since I’ve done a random photo post. The last one I did was on February 24, 2014 ._.

So that’s what I’m doing today! πŸ˜„

Please enjoy this photo I took of my pet hedgehog at El Matador beach in California(:

It was his first trip to the beach and he looks a little grumpy but he ended up walking around and playing in the sand a bit.

I also made my hedgehog his own instagram page where I post his adventures and where he’s been and all his travels. Feel free to follow him by clicking here!(:

Thanks for stopping by!

The Past Week

I guess you can say I’ve been busy lately. Over the last week, I’ve done a lot of things; lots of family time and I even had a few new first time experiences that turned out to be quite awesome.

So I’m just going to rant on and tell you about them and how my week went(:

Here’s a little list of things I will cover:

1. Goodwill

2. WinCo

3. Double rainbow

4. Historic Railroad Tunnel Trail

5. Boulder City Historic District

6. Morning mountain mumbo jumbo

— — —

So my first new experience was going to a Goodwill thrift store. I’ve been to a few thrift stores in town and I have my favorites, however as well known and mainstream as their name is, I’ve never stepped foot into a Goodwill store. BUT, last week I did. And I’d say it was a mostly positive experience. I was surprised at how store-like the place really was. It actually looked nice like a department store at the mall. The most an item of clothing would be is $7, which was kinda cool. I ended up finding something I was looking for too, a plus.

The only downfall to this experience, and this happens with all thrift stores, was that the smell got to me after while. Anyone who’s been inside a thrift shop knows the scent I’m talking about. That subtly rancid stench of old clothing that starts off light and less intense then within an hour seems to consume your nostrils and you as a whole and gives you a headache cause it’s probably eating your brains out. Lol I started to feel really light headed and sick after awhile of being in there.

Overall though, the majority was a positive experience(: I’ll definitely be going back to see if I can find other things I’m looking for.

— — —

A few days ago I went with mum to the WinCo down the street. I knew what WinCo was but I’ve never been in there. I really don’t like the idea of discounted food and items. I’d rather pay full price and trust what I’m buying. But that’s just me. Places like Costco and Sam’s Club and WinCo or whatever, with the whole big warehouse discount food/everything shopping is just weird to me. But I went with mum because she wanted me to.

There was, however, one particular thing I really enjoyed about it, and that was their candy bar. It was awesome! x) I love candy! I got a bunch of strawberry sour belts and Laffy Taffy’s. And of course sampled what I was getting to make sure they were good, even though the signs say not to sample them. Whatever. But yeah, that was pretty cool.

All that candy I got is already gone btw x)

— — —

Then we came home that same day and low and behold, a double rainbow was right outside my house. Lol

The first one was super bright and pretty and a FULL freaking rainbow, which I’ve never actually seen; and the second was more faint and not a complete rainbow. You could see both the left and right side of it but not the top/middle of it.

I tried to take a photo of it using the panorama, and this is what I got.

It kind of just looks like a bubble… but I still think it looks pretty cool(:

And here’s a random photo, taken at the same time as the rainbow mini panorama, but facing the opposite direction towards the sunset.

My last first time experience this week was hiking through the Historic Railroad Tunnel Trail at Lake Mead. Well it wasn’t really a hike, I suppose. It was more of just a really long walk that took us through some old tunnels and break spots where there were some historic information, and the trail leads all the way to Hoover Dam. But still, I’ve never been on this trail so it was pretty cool to do something new with the family.

I also saw some bats in the tunnels! Which I’ve never seen before either. They were squeaking and making bat noises and flying around and being weird.

Here are some photos from that day(:

After our little hike, we went to the Boulder City Historic District, which is probably one of my favorite little places. It’s the cutest little ‘perfect for tv’ town where the people are all nice and happy, the grass is always green, no crime at all kinda vibe. Seriously, this little district looks a little too perfect in appearance. It probably holds some dark, sinister secret like all the movies with perfect little towns do.

I love that they have cute little shops and eateries.

We ate at this cute pizza place and I made friends with a cow at the ice cream shop(:

Then this morning, my dad took me and mum up to the mountains and went for a little hike/walk around thing. The weather was perfect. Super cloudy, a little cold, and almost stormy(: And we just hung out.

And here’s some photos from that outing(:

— — —

So yeah, that’s pretty much all of the outings I’ve had within the past week. It’s been fun and pretty tiring. Every night when I come home I just want to shower and go to sleep and not participate in life the next day…

Hope everyone else has had a wonderful week!(:

Thanks for stopping by!

Elephant Rock at Valley of Fire

So today was extremely fun! It was a family day and we all decided to barbecue and hang out together at Valley of Fire. We haven’t been there in YEARS so it was nice to go back and see everything again.

Hope you enjoy these photos from earlier today(:

Now this one’s my personal favorite. It’s named ‘Balancing Rock’, however I don’t think that name does it justice. What do I see when I look at this scene? A DINOSAUR, obviously! It’s head’s turned, it’s body and long tail. Can you see it?

It should be renamed because when viewed properly, you can clearly see a dinosaur, not just a balancing rock. Unless it’s just my imagination?…

And lastly, here’s my family and I at the visitor center(:

Today was fabulous! In town, the weather was rainy, gloomy, and just a little chilly. I love when the skies are grey and rainy. It’s perfect for me. When my dad came home, we decided to go up to the mountains to see the snow. It was raining the entire time coming up the mountain, but the rain quickly turned into flurries, and we saw that the mountain was covered in snow!

Enjoy!(:

‘Valley of the Shadow’…?

I just woke up from yet another strange dream. It featured some random handsome guy who I don’t remember ever seeing before in life. But anyways, it began with me and this handsome guy (let’s name him Jeremy) hiking deep in the mountains of… somewhere. It didn’t look familiar to me so I can’t say exactly where we were. But it was basically in the middle of nowhere and the mountains went on for miles. We were just on a random hike, exploration quest and just went wherever the mountain would let us. We literally had to climb down massive mountains to get down to where we wanted to be. We found lots of little caves and hidden areas to stop and rest and just hang out. While we were sitting in one of the caves, I looked out to the right and could see a little girl standing in the next open ground through the small water carved canyon. She was just staring at me. I stopped for a second and just stared back at her then glanced over to Jeremy and then back at the girl but she was gone. It was weird, but I didn’t say anything.

We continued to hike down the mountain. Once we got to the bottom, we had to walk through another tight water carved canyon and when we reached the end, it opened up to a hidden town in the middle of freaking nowhere. It was so odd. Like, no one would ever be able to find this place because it was so deep in the mountains, and without proper equipment it would be too dangerous ofΒ  a climb to even get down to ground level.

We decided to walk around and see the town. It was strange because we thought that it would be deserted, but it wasn’t. There were about fifty people in this town, walking around, living life. It looked like an old western town. The kind in an old Clint Eastwood film. It had a saloon, a bank, a court house, city hall, and little stores all made from rotted looking wood. The town was actually kinda cute though. It reminded me of when I went to Virginia City years ago. Jeremy and I hung out for a few hours and met some really nice people. We actually started to forget that we were deep in the mountains, in the middle of nowhere, talking to random people who somehow live out here. But for some reason we didn’t seem to think any of this was weird. Because people go hiking in random places and discover hidden towns all the time right? This was not normal.

After awhile, we wanted to start heading back home but the town’s people convinced us to stay the night since it would be getting dark in a couple hours. They were very accommodating and gave us a room to stay in. We woke up the next morning around 6am to leave and go back up the mountain and be home by the afternoon. The sun was just starting to show and light up the sky, so we quickly packed up our backpacks and headed out. As soon as we walked out of the building, the entire town was there to greet us. We thanked them for letting us stay for a night and that we had to leave now. Then the town’s people told us that we’re not allowed to leave. Jeremy and I looked at each other like WTF, and we told them again that we have to leave and go home but they just kept repeating that we could not leave. That they wouldn’t let us.

And then I randomly woke up and that was the end of the dream.

This dream was actually really interesting because after I woke up and thought about it for a second, I realized it had similar events as an episode I once saw of The Twilight Zone. The episode was titled, ‘Valley of the Shadow’, and it was about a man who was driving through the mountains and stops for directions and ends up discovering this odd little town called ‘Peaceful Valley’. The town and the town’s people held a dark secret and when the man tried to leave, they wouldn’t let him. It’s a really good episode and I remember seeing it on television in late December. My dream differed a bit, but regardless, had a close synopsis.

Hope you enjoyed reading another one of my dreams!(:

Today, my bro and I decided to go for a little adventure since it was beautiful outside. Sounds odd, but we went for a walk, in the desert, where no civilization lies. Total weirdos I know. But I actually had a lot of fun! It was pretty cool because there were tons of areas to explore and just mess around in. Before going down to the wash, we saw a random giant sewage tunnel and stopped to rest and take pictures.

Today my cousin and I went to the pet store and played with a few dogs for a couple of hours, like usual. Then at the last minute as the store was closing, we decided to buy a friend. Since we couldn’t afford a dog at the time we got a Betta fish! Woot Woot! He is a beautiful teal color and also has darker shades of blue and some red. We named him Jipetto(: And he is awesome. He now has a perfect little home on my dresser.

Dream State

4FE8814E-1AD4-48D5-A523-EDFAB8178D19-4160-0000038CFB23AACA_zpsc39cdc41

I’ve been waking up and remembering a lot more of my dreams lately and I wanted to share one. It’s pretty random. I had this dream the morning of February 15th.

The dream started off with me walking around outside in a giant courtyard. From what I could tell, it had a big fountain right in the middle and lots of trees and plants decorating the surrounding area; but then again it was already pitch dark outside and every thing was looking faint. I don’t remember what I was doing really, but then I came up to a massive building that I was apparently looking for. I had never seen it before, but somehow in the dream I knew it’s what I was looking for. I stepped inside the building and all that was there was a big empty white room with elevators in the corner. No front desk, and no furniture at all, just plain white walls and elevators. I went straight for the elevators and took it all the way to the top floor. There was like some weird reunion going on with all the people I ever went to school with. I saw people I remember from 3rd grade and people from junior high and everyone that went to my last high school. It was mandatory to attend but I didn’t want to. I didn’t care about any of these losers then and I don’t care now. Of course, I found the one friend I had in high school and we stuck together. We ditched the reunion and left to go to a nearby casino that had a cinema. We actually didn’t end up seeing any movie, instead we got lost and couldn’t even find the casino.

Then somehow we ended up at a random venue and everybody was running towards it and rushing in. We didn’t know what was going on but we decided to join in on the runnings. Lol. We ran up to the doors of the building, which were open, and just ran right in. When we got inside, we realized we were at an N*Sync concert with Backstreet Boys and 98 Degrees. Lol. At first we were like WTF, but hey, we like them(: So we stayed. We were seated right in the front middle of the venue and had to be locked in to our seats. When the show started, our seats began to move slowly from side to side. We were sitting in what seemed like a big pendulum. It swayed us from side to side and it was actually really fun. In the dream I didn’t find any of this unusual at all, like it was all normal or something.

All of a sudden the dream jumped scenes and I was walking outside again. But not in the courtyard this time. I was in the woods, almost lost.

9C354D27-B079-4320-8348-B132FE150FF5-4160-0000038B9DF87187_zps34420646

I really didn’t know what I was doing…. I was just walking. And I was alone. I remember looking up for a minute to see the sky and all I saw was black. Pure black, not a single star was in the sky. Again, I didn’t find this unusual, even though in the woods I would normally be able to see twice as many stars than in the city. I walked further into the woods and saw a green tree far in the distance. Like the entire tree was an obvious green that stood out among the dark normal colored trees.

AED9A316-E4BF-42AA-BE6A-F7CBC1695951-4160-0000038BACAEDF64_zps88de8c43

As I got closer I realized just how massive the tree really was and recognized it by name. It was a giant sequoia. I walked up to it and then ended up walking right through it. Like it wasn’t even there. I came out on the other side to a completely different scene. Now I was in my bedroom, and a guy I’ve never seen before, or at least don’t recall seeing before, was sitting in my room. He obviously knew me and who I was, and apparently, in the dream, I knew him too. Let’s name him Jack. So Jack and I talked for awhile about a lot of things. We had a lot in common and shared the same interests. This guy was like the PERFECT dream best friend. At one point he asked me about my family but I don’t remember what about exactly. Then, he was gone. Just vanished. I left my room and walked into my living room and kitchen completely unfurnished. Everything was gone. All that was there were the walls and tiles, both the darkest shade of black. I looked around for my family but they were no where to be found. They had vanished as well. But how long were they gone? Did they vanish as soon as I stepped out of my room or had they been gone long before then? Or were they just never there to begin with? I rushed to the front door and slipped down into a tunnel slide. Lol, a long, winding, park slide. I got to the bottom but it was blocked off completely to where I was trapped and stuck inside. I freaked.

And that was the end of the dream. I woke up kinda freaked because I’ve had multiple dreams where I’ve gotten trapped inside of a slide with a closed bottom and I couldn’t climb back up or kick the bottom open so I could get out, and I always ended up just trapped. And the rest of the dream was just random and weird.

Going back to the quote in the beginning, it got me thinking. Do we escape to an alternative reality when we dream? How do we know which world really is dream and reality? What if our dreams are actually our reality and our so called ‘everyday life’ is just the dream state we go to every night and everything we know is just a big everyday dream? What if everything we think we know is backwards and we’re really awake and living when we’re dreaming? Or what if they’re both reality?
