Last night my dad and I went to see Queensryche at The Chrome Showroom inside Santa Fe Station. My dad always wins stuff off the radio and this time he won two tickets to see Queensryche and scored the only meet and greet passes they were giving away on the radio. He decided to take me with him, and I’m glad he did cause I had a blast!
Before last week, I had never even heard of Queensryche but after looking up a few songs, I really enjoyed them. I just love listening to live music and being in the atmosphere so I couldn’t say no. Especially when it’s free.
Pre show was actually pretty awesome too. We picked up our tickets at will call and went in to be seated. The tickets we had won were right in the middle, just five seats back from the stage. There were these giant monitor screens on either end of the stage that played all of the awesome old music videos from other hard rock, metal bands. It was awesome since I hadn’t seen much of the older music videos from bands like Motley Crue, Van Halen, AC/DC, and Ozzy.
The show itself was mindblowingly awesome. Some of the guys were old and wrinkly and stuff, but man they were jamming so hard. I always love going to shows and seeing the members on stage with a smile on their face, having the time of their lives and really enjoying what they do. They played with passion and they put on a great show. The showroom was packed with people, one younger guy in particular really caught my eye. He had the most insane 80’s metal hair, it was real, all long and permed and he just head banged the entire show. His hair was swaying everywhere and no doubt the guy behind him ate some of his hair. Swear he looked like one of the guys in Motley Crue’s ‘Same Ol’ Situation’ music video that played earlier; like he just dropped out of a time machine from the 80’s and came to the show. And for a minute there I found myself watching him rather than the band. Lol
This is the only somewhat decent photo I was able to take since my dad and I kept getting yelled at by security. Apparently we’re not allowed to take any photos at all. Wtf.
But all in all, I had a great time and Queensryche was amazing(:
